Marmaris Hotels

Marmaris with its beautiful bays, green forests, pine covered hills and its countless natural beauties is one of the best and biggest holiday resorts in Turkey and is very well know for the Luxury hotels in Marmaris and Marmaris all Inclusive hotels.  The town is located in the Mugla province and lies in the southwest region of Turkey. Once it was a small fishing village, Now Marmaris is a modern development town with tourism at its heart and soul containing a very large Marmaris hotel region.

It is possible to find facilities appropriate for all kinds of budgets, with most Marrmaris hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and all kinds of shops. Marmaris is also very well known for its expanse of green sights throughout  the whole year. Pine-covered hills surround the town and make it even greener. Apatrt from the many beaches and Marmaris hotels around the bay, there are also ancient cities and seaside villages close to the centre.

The yacht harbor is the biggest and newest in Turkey, and therefore it is probably the busiest charter port during the summer.  Transportation facilities in town are almost perfect. It is close to Dalaman Airport, ferries to Rhodes, and on the road to Datca and Fethiye, and to the internationally very well known harbor.

All About Marmaris

History

Marmaris ancient name was Physkos and was a Carian Port. During the Hellenistic period has been under the domination of Seulecos, then of Rome and Byzance. The Turks, Menteşeoğulları conquered it and Süleyman the Magnificent in 1522 built also the Castle.

 

Marmaris for a short period 1919-1921 was under Italian occupation. Then within the Republic of Turkey as a town of fisherman until the 80’s and the explosion of tourism.
